The Building Process, Step by Step

The usual order of work for a shed, garage or carport, from first call to final walkthrough, with what you can expect at each step.

Call and consult

You tell us what you want to build or fix, and we ask about your lot, your timing and your budget.

We schedule a visit and answer early questions.

There is no obligation at this stage.

Visit and design

We walk the site, measure, take photos and sketch layouts. We discuss materials, colors and options.

You receive a written estimate and, for larger projects, drawings.

You review it and ask questions.

Permits and orders

We help you prepare what your city, county or HOA asks to see. We order materials and long-lead items such as doors.

Permit timing varies, and we keep you informed.

Work does not start until the plan is approved.

Site prep and foundation

We mark the layout, call before digging, clear and level the area and build the foundation. Inspections happen where required.

Drainage is planned at this stage.

A good start makes the rest easier.

Build and finish

Framing, roofing, siding, doors and windows go up, then interiors, power and trim are completed.

We keep the site tidy and communicate daily changes.

You see progress in photos and on your visits.

Walkthrough and care

We walk the finished building with you, test doors and systems and leave a care guide and photos.

We discuss seasonal checkups.

You know who to call if anything needs attention.

Our advice in one sentence

Ask for a written schedule and a single contact so every step has a clear owner.

Questions

Quick answers.

How long does the whole process take?

It depends on size, permits and weather. We give a written range for your project.

Do I need to be home?

It helps at the start and for the walkthrough. We mainly need clear access to the build area.

Who talks to the city?

We help prepare and submit what is required where allowed, and keep you informed.

Free Estimate

Ready for a building that is strong, neat and made for you?
